Green flag guys

I love the expression "green flag guy." 
Maybe it's because I see red flags everywhere, after volunteering and then working with an organization that served survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Going back to school for that sociology degree didn't AT ALL lessen my tendency to see those red flags.
Anyway, like all the other women who said "bear" in answer to the "Which would you rather be alone in the woods with--a strange man or a bear?" question,  I wish we had a lot more good men in the world. Men whose behavior is the opposite of a red flag. You know, green flag guys. 
Guys who are not afraid to love, who don't think it's unmanly, who WANT you to feel good, who would never dream of purposely hurting or scaring or bullying you. Men who would stand up for you when you need help and who would tell other guys to stop being jerks. Men who may have gone through some stuff but who would never take it out on you. Men who love you and other people too--men who love you for who and what you are, NOT because you're "not like other girls."
I put more of these men into the world by writing them. The kinds of guys it would be good to know. Safe to be with. Wonderful to love.
